ELDIM at Display week 2011

Pierre BOHER, ELDIM R&D application head manager will present 2 technical papers and will make a presentation at the Exhibitor Forum...

Display Week, the Society for Information Displays Symposium, Seminar, and Exhibition, is the essential yearly meeting for everyone involved in the technology, business, and application of cutting-edge displays. It is also the top North American exhibit venue for display industry products and services.

Each year, engineers, manufacturers, researchers, and numerous others involved in the electronic-information-display industry gather at Display Week for access to a huge range of display-related technologies and applications. These include high-definition flat-panel displays, OLEDs, flexible displays, plastic electronics, large-area projection systems, and much more. This is the place to learn about the state of the art of image processing, systems software and display processor hardware, human factors and applied vision, and exciting new application areas such as 3-D and electronic cinema, touch and interactivity, solid-state lighting, and green technologies.
As the must-see event for the worldwide electronic-information-display industry,
Display Week is host to hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of attendees each year.

Gray-Level Crosstalk and Temporal Synchronisation of Different Shutter-Glass 3D TVs

P. Boher, T. Leroux, T. BIGNON

ELDIM, France

Quality control of different shutter glasses for 3D TVs is realized with an imaging luminance meter. A dedicated pattern is applied to simultaneously check the effect of gray level on both eyes and of temporal synchronization. The visual impact of gray-level instabilities is quantified and correlated to the properties of the shutter glasses.

Tuesday. May 17,  4:00 PM - 4:20 PM at Concourse Hall

Session 14:  3DTV - LCD

Paper: 14.3

Precise Evaluation of the Colorimetric Properties of Displays versus Viewing Angle Using Fourier Optics

P. Boher, T. Leroux, V. Collomb-Patton, T. BIGNON
ELDIM, France

Full analysis of the color properties of different LCDs is presented based on viewing-angle measurements made using an Fourier optics system. L*a*b* color space and on-axis values as reference is used. Gravity-center behavior and hull area in addition to volume have been computed for the entire viewing angle.

Friday. May 20,  11:20 AM - 11:40 AM at Room 403B

Session 70:  Achieving Accurate Color Reproduction

Paper 70.3

Optical Characterization of Different Types of Stereoscopic 3D Displays
