Applications MS

general applications of brand new EZContrast XL88MS...

EZContrastMS comes with a user friendly software which allows fully automated measurement, many type of displays, data export and different analysis. Color and luminance calculation are also available. Using reference ELDIM LEDsource multispectral transmittance of films and display components can be measured easily in realistic using conditions.

Multispectral polarization measurements on LCDs

LCDs are essential sophisticated polarization modulators. LCD operation and optimization depends on the use of sophisticated polarization compensation. Depending on the liquid crystal structure, the polarization stat e of the light emitted by a LCD can be extremely complex and in particular the OFF state. All the unpolarized light detected in OFF state cannot be modulated by the LC and generally limits the contrast. As shown below , the spectral dependence of the polarization state can be extremely complex . EZContrastMS results allow a close analysis of the working conditions of the liquid crystal cell itself and a precise evaluation of its efficiency versus wavelength.
